About Us
The Beginnings On October 27, 1960, the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) granted the Hilco Federal Credit Union a charter as Kerr Federal Credit Union for employees and family members of the Kerrville State Hospital and employees of the credit union. The name was changed five months later to Hilco Federal Credit Union and is owned by the members as a “not for profit” credit union. In November, 1984, Tri-Government Federal Credit Union merged with Hilco. The field of membership was expanded through the merger to include the employees, family and retirees of the United States Department of Agriculture, Kerr County, City of Kerrville, and the Upper Guadalupe River Authority. Hilco Federal Credit Union has been affiliated with the NCUA (standards, compliance and insuring authority), the Texas Credit Union League (TCUL), and the Credit Union National Association, Inc. (CUNA) since its beginning in 1960. Today Hilco is a growing credit union offering the members personal service you can only find in the Hill Country. The credit union has assets exceeding $4,000,000 and provides a large array of services. Each year all members are invited to attend the annual meeting to participate in a review of the past year and hear the plans for the year that follows. The annual meeting is always filled with food, fun, and prizes.
